A 3
bedroom, 1 bathroom house located in a quiet, secluded area on the outskirts of
San Ignacio with beautiful scenery and panoramic view.
This private 1/2 acre hilltop property has an enchanting southern view of
jungle and the Maya Mountains. The 1 1/2 storey hardwood house has rustic charm
and was built by local Mennonites for longevity. Services include water,
electricity, phone and hi-speed internet. There are 2 water tanks and a
discreet privy for emergencies. The property is in a desirable neighborhood
located 5 minutes by vehicle or 20 minutes by foot from downtown San Ignacio.
The main floor is 500 square feet and the large loft bedroom is 300 square
feet. Two small bedrooms flank a 3 piece bathroom in the middle. The kitchen
and living/dining area is open concept with cathedral ceiling. The deck is 500
square feet. It is the main living area for a tropical lifestyle. The roof
extends over more than half of the deck to provide shelter from sun and rain,
leaving the remainder open to the sky to track sun, moon and stars. The deck is
ideal for relaxing, dining, entertaining and enjoying a view of the jungle
canopy, the many birds including toucans and parakeets, and the distant vistas.
The interior is completely paneled with tongue and groove hardwood. Cabinets,
shelves and furniture (dining-room table with 6 chairs, 2 beds, computer table)
are custom-made from mahogany. While hilltop breezes usually keep the house
comfortable, there are ceiling and wall-mounted fans for the heat. Furniture,
stove, fridge, washing machine and all contents (kitchenware, window coverings,
linens) are included.
The yard is fenced with a gate. It is beautifully landscaped with a variety of
flowering plants and bushes, palms and mature fruit trees for the jungle resort
look. An abundance of fruit grows in the yard- orange, grapefruit, tangerine,
lime, avocado, mango, cherry, tamarind, custard apple, breadfruit, banana,
plantain, coconut. Royal palm, flamboyant, almond, allspice and ziricote trees
also grace the property. A gumbo-limbo tree provides shade for a mortar and
stone barbecue near a garden terraced for culinary and healing herbs. Gas lawn
mower and garden tools are included.
After living for 22 years in San Ignacio and Santa Elena, I can honestly say that, should you make the decision to make a new home in Belize, you could not do better than to live in the Cayo District. After all, it is not only the popular choice for tourists visiting this jewel called Belize, it is also the number one choice for those relocating to a new home in this paradise country of ours. Here, amongst the hills, rivers, jungle and Maya ruins, you will meet many from North America, from Europe, and indeed, from all around the globe who have made a new and happy life for themselves and their families in the Cayo towns
I have been a Belize real estate agent for over five years and I will be pleased to help you in any way that I can to find the property that you are looking for.
